This tube measures stronger than NOS specification, ensuring many thousands of hours of exceptional performance. This is a true NOS tube, with stronger-than-spec measurements to back it up, providing an outstanding opportunity for collectors and audio enthusiasts. Why Matsushita Tubes Are Highly Valued Matsushita, a renowned Japanese electronics manufacturer, is essentially a Philips tube factory. In the 1960s, Matsushita was equipped with the best European expertise and Mullard tooling equipment to produce tubes, making them a top contender in the vacuum tube market. European Expertise: With the guidance and technical support of Philips, Matsushita utilized the same high standards and manufacturing processes that made European tubes so desirable. Mullard Tooling Equipment: Matsushita's use of Mullard's equipment ensured that their tubes were built with the same precision and quality as the original European models, contributing to their excellent performance and durability. Reliable and Consistent Quality: Matsushita tubes are known for their reliability and consistent quality, making them a popular choice among audiophiles and musicians seeking great sound and longevity. Our Rigorous Tube Testing Process All our tubes are tested to a strict standard on the state-of-the-art Amplitrex AT1000 tester. We follow a testing regimen similar to some of the other very best sellers on the internet. For our purposes, the two measurements that are most important are Plate Current and Transconductance (GM). We test Plate Current in FIXED BIAS mode to get the most accurate estimate of remaining tube life. Transconductance is usually tested in AUTO BIAS mode in order to maximize the tube performance. This emulates how it will behave in an actual circuit due to cathode-biasing. Our Grading System: 0.9 mA and Higher: Considered NOS (New Old Stock) because these tubes are very close to their original specification (1.2 mA) and show little to no wear. This falls within natural factory variation. 0.7 to 0.8 mA: Considered "Good." These tubes are still functional with acceptable performance but may show moderate wear. Below 0.7 mA: Not sold, as they are likely too worn, may have reduced performance, and do not meet the quality expected by most customers. This system ensures buyers receive reliable and well-performing tubes. Amplitrex Test Results The following measurements confirm that this Matsushita 12AX7 tube is a true NOS tube, with plate current and transconductance that exceed standard specifications, guaranteeing superior performance and longevity. Plate Current: 1.3 mA / 1.3 mA Transconductance (GM): 1900 / 1900 Leakage: None Noise: Low Microphonics: Low No warranty is provided for these vintage tubes due to their age. However, we offer a 30-day return policy for defective tubes to ensure customer satisfaction. Please contact us within 7 days of receipt if you encounter any issues. Real issues only; subjective sound from tube rolling is not a legitimate return issue. Elevate Your Audio Experience – Own a True NOS Matsushita 12AX7 Tube Today!
